Our Work in the Community

Square Park Garden

The Frankston Square Park Garden is located on the square in downtown Frankston, TX.  It was designed in 2015 with the hard work of Frankston Garden Club members and the Frankston Economical Development Committee.

The park is also maintained by Frankston Garden Club members.  Chairman of the FGC park committee is Veronica Mathis.  She does a wonderful job overseeing the watering, weeding, and new plantings of the garden.  When needed, she will schedule a garden cleanup day where all members are invited to help volunteer to weed, plant, or spread mulch.

Square Park Memorial Planters

Frankston Garden Club also maintains the flowerpot planters at the Veteran's Memorial at the Square Park, located on the North side.

Chairman for this committee is Veronica Mathis and Bobbie Knudsen. They do a wonderful job keeping the plants in the planters beautiful all year around.  If you get a chance, go by the Park Square and look at the beautiful planters.

Beauty Spot of the Month

Each month the FGC choses a yard for Beauty Spot of the Month.

If you would like to be considered, or would like to nominate someone for FGC Beauty Spot of the Month, please email us at FrankstonGardenClub.TX@gmail.com

Meals  on Wheels

Each year in February following our garden club meeting, FGC members make a special Valentine for Meals On Wheels recipients, such as flower arrangements, cards, Valentines bags, etc. to be delivered with their meal .

Spooktacular on the Square

Frankston Garden Club sets up a table yearly at Spooktacular on the Square. Volunteers hand out over 1000 pieces of candy to the local children.

Gigi Selman is a member of the garden club and is actively involved in the local community.

Square Fair

Every October marks the Square Fair Event in downtown Frankston on the square.

This much-anticipated annual celebration kicks off with a parade that each year draws participants from throughout the community and neighboring areas, replete with marching bands, decorated floats and patriotic themes.

The Garden Club always participates with a booth displaying our collectible ornaments.

Frankston Fire Department

The Frankston Fire Department decided they wanted to beautify the area in front of their building, so they contacted the Frankston Garden Club.

Frankston Garden Club members along with a few strong firemen broke ground and planted heat tolerant plants for an easy to maintain landscape.
